I have completed my first week in Utah. I'm pleased to say it was a success. At least by my standards. I started my classes at UCMT (Master Bodyworker Program). 10 weeks of classes and then I'll be even more equipped to be out in the field working. Just a few more tools in my massage tool belt. I'm looking forward to all of my classes. Many changes await in my life. No doubt about that one. I still have yet to get a hang of the bus system and how its going to work for me. Pretty much have gotten rides home. I went to a ward social with a friend on friday night. Entertaining for sure. I love getting to be around wards that are new to me. The dynamics are just great. From the old men and interesting sense of humor, teenage girls, wild children to the single moms. I love people watching. You can mostly just blend in. Do what everyone else is doing, and then oh, wait, don't forget to help put up chairs at the end of the night. I love mormons haha. Most of the time you can find someone to help with anything you need help with. From a ride home to doing a quilt to getting a blessing, a friendly smile, or even like i said, putting up chairs at the end of an activity. And what would an activity be without someone praying for the massive amounts of sugar to nurish and strengthen us. :) Also this week I took a lil cruise around town with my cousin to find the bank (which i never found), the post office, the two closest walmarts, and just orient myself in general. While we were waiting at a stop light I was flagged down and excitedly yelled at by a fellow driver. Best part of the night by far.... He excitedly yelled out his window when I opened my door (dont forget my driver side door is still being held up by a suction cup) to hear what he said.... " -O-H- "...... hahaha it took me a minute to realize what had just happened....i yelled back "-I-O-" man i'm glad i'm still driving around with my ohio plates. Good times. I still need to go clean my car. Its so dirty from the drive. I'm surprised he could even see where I was from. Well I'm off to go do a lil service project today.
so thats a small report of my first week in utah. Its good. I'm having fun. I'm thankful for my room in the basement with my time and space to study.
