Oh how lovely was the morning....

I have to say this temple shows off pretty well how I feel about Oregon so far. The greenery is hiding so much good stuff. Just too much green for me sometimes. This morning I took a trip to Portland to spend sometime doing temple work. No better time...I don't have a job yet, so I thought I should do a little bit of service for those on the other side. I love visiting the homes of my friends. I think the house of the Lord is probably my favorite friends house to date :)
Portland Temple

Holiness to the Lord, The House of the Lord

It never fails. Being at the temple always puts me in better spirits. Gives me a more eternal perspective. There were quite a few older couples there today. And a big group of Missionaries. I have had a little bit of a hard time just wondering if I am in the right place, and being here today was something that put my mind at rest. I felt peace again with my decision to go to Oregon for the summer. Its hard getting started with a new set of friends, a new time zone, a new routine. It can be hard to stay focused when your future plans aren't set in stone or just super obvious. I was lucky enough to get a phone call yesterday about an interview this coming Thursday. I am hoping if nothing else I will walk away knowing I gave it my best shot.  So baby steps....I continue onward.

Friends.

You ever wonder what it will be like to see a friend after 15 yrs or so with not a whole lot of contact??....I do, but I don't have to wonder anymore! It was fun to pick up wherever it was that we left off. It was a good day going to Washington for the first time ever, eating some yummy Olive Garden, and getting to see LaDawna, her 4 kids and husband. Okay so maybe it took me awhile to come to terms with the fact she has that many kids. I have so many friends with that many kids and more. It still blows my mind. It will forever be a good experience for me to meet up with old friends... even more so knowing/finding out our common beliefs/faith in God is a thread of our friendship that holds it together. I mean, it just seems to make it easy to be with someone when you are being uplifted by them. Thanks for letting me visit and be a part of your life again :)  I will always love the saying... Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold. I sure do treasure friendship.

Musical Movie Night....

Wish I would've taken pictures every few minutes with this group.
Matthew, Tim, Emily and Jenny.
We sorta watched 7 brides for 7 brothers. There was lots of talking. It happens.
Moments I wish I would've gotten on film =
*Long awkward hug with Matthew that resembled an Andrew Cumbie hug
*Story time with Matthew on the workings of the spirit in his life
*River dancing in the living room
*Picking out favorite bride and brother
*Junior mints doubling for chewing tobacco. danger danger

There just isn't any good way to bottle those memories up and save them. Hope just writing about it does the memory enough justice. Thank you kids for being friends with me tonight.
