An Excellent Pick-up Line (Written by Katie Bills)

Yesterday, I walked up to Beth Benson who was waiting outside the branch president's office and she asked me a question, "Katie, did you know that the distance from here to here (Image 1 to 2) is the same as the distance from here to here (Image 2 to 3)?" Now, me being me, I just saw this as an interesting thought to tuck away in my random facts file. Then the light bulb came on. "OH! You're HITTING on me!!" It's a good one. Study the following images and use it. Let us know how it works out for you.

Please note: Beth does not usually hit on women. This was first used by a male on Beth. We endorse heterosexual pick-ups.
Please also note: Beth is demonstrating the awkward hand. It's awkward no matter where you put it.
also...please note :) this was all written very perfectly...by my english teacher friend Katie hehe, she forgot to mention that she is on summer break and missing having things to do...i kept her occupied for a little bit this evening.

Stolen post...or maybe just stolen pictures....

I love these pictures my sister took at my grandparents house....so yes I stole them all from her blog. My favorite is of me :) of course. Me and Angela Faith.... Love this girl. She is always doing this little smile and nose scrunchy thing, so I was trying to get her to do it. We set the camera up on the table to take this picture. We really did have a good time at Grandma and Grandpas house this day.
There was some storms coming and going the whole day. We ended up with puddles outside the house that Jennifer was LOVING! I actually got a video on my phone of her playing in it.

This smile is to die for! She is such a doll baby! Such a lovable little girl. She is so squishy and always giving out hugs. I love love love it.

Short....

This is just a short update. I'm working full time while I'm still in training then it will go to part time. So things are busy for me. I have struggled with moving out all at once and started working full time. I'll get the hang of it, but until then I'm working on getting myself in order.

I finally had time to sit and start reading a new book. eh, life is just life right now, nothing really big or eventful. I'm content.

I'll find something more to write about here in the near future I'm sure.

One thing that has been interesting about work I will say before I leave is that I love making new friends. This girl I have lunch with is great! We sit and talk about all kinds of stuff, I would say the majority of it goes to how frustrating guys are, but its always entertaining conversation...to say the least. She keeps telling me she is going to give up guys. Makes me laugh, I know she never will. Its not THAT bad. We all have our quirks. And we have been catching on to the fact that everyone calls each other by love, sweetie, or something along those lines at work, so we call each other suger...or "suga" now.

Well I'm not in the mood to talk anymore about work, I should be in bed cause I gotta get up early. Just had to give a short update or say something.

I'm out!

Diversity....

My favorite quote of the day today was totally taken out of context, but its always better this way.

“I come from the mental health field…I like to hug people with my thoughts”

I have spent the last two days at orientation for my new job at the Hospital. We have had a wide range of topics to talk about. It honestly has been a boring couple of days but I know there are always matters of business that need to be taken care of and today we had a couple good conversations. Today we talked about diversity and patient satisfaction. Makes sense really. My favorite thing that we learned about was the platinum rule. I guess I’m always used to hearing about the Golden rule, but this one struck me as interesting today. It fits in with a phrase I always use anyway. The platinum rule is “Treat others as they want to be treated”. In a patient context it always makes sense. You want to give the best service…yadda yadda. But I thought this was funny because I have said many many times to myself and a few times out loud to other people. Sharing is not always caring. It’s my belief that just because you are ready to share something doesn’t mean that someone else is ready to hear it. So the good ol’ Golden rule of “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” doesn’t really always hold up if you are trying to please people just because of difference of beliefs or paradigms. In healthcare you can’t go by the same slogans that are used in fast food like “the customer is always right”. Not so true, but it is okay to let them be treated the way they want to be treated. This is why we ended up talking about touching. Some people feel it is okay to put a hand on someone just being caring or friendly but it really is a line that some don’t like to have crossed. So you need to ask. It’s just a matter of good communication. You are always safer finding out how a person feels by asking rather than by acting then asking. For some reason I found this an interesting thought to think on again today.

currently reading....

"Who moved my cheese?"

It's a good book on change and finding happiness.

I'm busy with a few changes right now so I might not be blogging as frequently unless I really miss it that much.
