Two of my Nephews.

Thankgoodness for family.

These are two of my nephews that always bring a smile to my face. Brandon and Bryce. We had a little fun with the camara one day while I was in Ohio for Christmas break. Bryce was making all kinds of funny noises and brandon...um...not sure. If I can ever get the video to load. I'll post it too. (ps, these are Jake and Staceys boys)

Religion Class

I'm taking a Book of Mormon class from bro. Kory Kunz this semester. Its on the second half of the book of mormon. The interesting thing I learned today is about a scriptural chiasmus. (sorry if I am not using the word correctly. Its still new to me) Defined: Chiasmus is often found in ancient Hebrew writing and is an arrangement of words or ideas placed in a certain order and then repeated in reverse order. Concentrating attention on the main point of passage by placing it at the central turning point of the text. I have heard of this before in other places in the book of mormon and one in Genesis (1:27) but the one here that is listed below is from the book of Alma in the Book of Mormon. Its pretty amazing. Just wanted to share this today. (I got this from bro. Kunz power point from his lecture) The cool thing is how the point has its focus on Jesus Christ.

a- My son, give ear to my words (v1)
b- Keep the commandments and ye shall prosper in the land (v1)
c- Do as I have done (v2)
d- Remember the captivity of our fathers (v2)
e- They were in bondage (v2)
f- He surely did deliver them (v2)
g- Trust in God (v3)
h- Supported in trials, troubles, and afflictions (v3)
i- I know this no of myself but of God (v4)
j- Born of God (v5)
k- I sought to destroy the church (v6-9)
l- My limbs were paralyzed (v10)
m- Fear of being in the presence of God (v14-15)
n- Pains of a damned soul (v16)
o- Harrowed up by the memory of sins (v17)
p- I remembered Jesus Christ, a son of God (v17)
p- I cried, Jesus, son of God (v17)
o- Harrowed up by the memory of sins no more (v19)
n- Joy as exceeding as was the pain (v20)
m- Long to be in the presence of God (v22)
l- My limbs received strength again (v23)
k- I labored to bring souls to repentance (v24)
j- Born of God (v26)
i- Therefore my knowledge is of God (v26)
h- Supported under trials, troubles, and afflictions (v27)

b- Keep the commandments and ye shall prosper in the land (v30)
a- This according to his word (v30)

Jennifer Rose

This one is for you Zak. This is my niece Jennifer. I got to see her for a little while during Christmas break when I was at my moms house. Jared brought both of his little girls for a visit from colorado. I thought it was the cutest thing how she put her pointer finger over her nose just like you did when you were a baby. I thought it was funny to see your little girl do it but even funnier to see one of my true nieces do it. Good times. Just had to make this post for you.

Drugs are my friends...

I have already missed doing my blog on friday. I can't believe I missed it already. Here is how my friday played out. I got up at 5 am. I didn't sleep well at all. I was up every hour on the hour or more. I had an awful nights sleep and then when I finally got out of bed I realized the reason I couldn't sleep was because my arm was hurting so bad. I don't have a clue what I did to my muscles but I couldn't lift my arm. Its been painful. So I got up and figured I should go to the doctor. I went into work to let them know I couldn't work and just hung around work since I couldnt go to the doctor until they opened at 8. I got in pretty much at 830. They took x-rays to make sure it wasn't anything structural and then decided to give me heavy duty anti-inflamitory meds & muscle relaxers. So I have been pretty drugged up and loopy since friday afternoon. I haven't answered my phone too much and I have slept most of my days away. I can feel the meds doing what they are suppossed to but the pain has only shift around my body. I know its just masking the pain and when it wears off the pain just is so much more apparent. I've been trying to not do too much so I don't hurt myself anymore than I already have. I think the best thing I can do for myself is to make sure I get enough sleep, water, and good food. I also got a blessing. I may take tomorrow off too. I can't live on these drugs forever though. I have homework that needs to get done. Thank goodness that tomorrow is a holiday though.

On saturday my roommaets switched around our living room too. It looks so much better than it did before. The furnishing is all pretty ghetto but they way they arranged it is pretty nice.

Well I'm off to go take another couple pills and then hopefully wake up tomorrow morning feeling ready to get some things done.

Newest Adventure = Blogging

Being the New Year and all I decided to try a new hobby. Blogging. There are quite a few of my friends that are on Blogspot and other blogs and lots of time I can't make comment as easily unless I have one of these deals. So hopefully my plan to sit and write something of importance every Friday afternoon will be fruitful. I might say there will be a week or two or three that my posts my not seem important. On those days I'll try and put something of interest, humor, or maybe only a photo. The possibilities are endless.

Just as a matter of updating. I'm currently attending BYU-Idaho. It’s my 4th semester here, only 2nd as a Health Science major. I'm taking a hospital health administration class, medical terminology, A&P, and believe it or not I'm still taking a few generals. I decided I wanted to go back to school last summer so this is just a new beginning for me. A fun thing I'm doing this semester is working part time on campus as a student cook. I've enjoyed my first week of that.

I'm also a nationally certified Massage Therapist. I do practice a little bit here in town. I have a couple clients. I've been certified for two years now doing that. It’s not the only thing I enjoy doing but I do love it and am glad that I have that knowledge and love of massage with me.

Well I hope to be back here every Friday. You will hear more from me then!

Thanks for stopping by!
