I have been reading lots of blogs lately...friends...and then friends of friends. I found this http://31datesin31days.com/ and have had fun reading things every now and then. My favorite part of it that I read tonight was......this:
So if you're wondering, "Where is Prince Charming?" then you need not look far.He is your neighbor. Your friend. Your co-worker. He is that stranger across from you.He might not be your Prince Charming, but he certainly is someone's.I hope to keep that perspective in mind on every future date.
someone once told me you should never say no on a first date unless you feel there is something morally questionable with the guy. You could be helping out someone else's husband even if it doesn't work out for you! right? riiight... its all about the charity :) I guess these two things are the same train of thought. Not that I've had too much to worry about in the dating arena for awhile. I have mixed emotions about dating right now. Some people sit around wishing and hoping to get asked out. Eh, I don't. And then generally when I'm with a guy or guys...I'd prefer it not be a date. Seems like its been tainted for me. Basically I'm fully aware of the fact that I should have a better attitude about it, but I don't. All my weird experiences are hard to add up, to make sense of, so I'm trying to piece together a good "lesson learned"...maybe then I can move on with a fresh view of things and a better attitude towards dating. AND I guess in the mean time I'll be happy with befriending HER prince charming and living my strangly hilarious fairytale of life. Dating or not. Single or married. Its my life to live...and I'm going to enjoy it.

Funny thoughts...
Thanks Kristy... this blog is pretty funny. www.myregisblog.blogspot.com
so my favorite story that I read so far was....(i'll just copy and past)
A guy from the stake presidency came and told us to remember not to tell stories or give sermons on Fast Sunday when you are supposed to be bearing a testimony. And I know that it is mostly because of that little Mexican lady that always stands up there for 20 minutes crying and talking about something with her kids or maybe something about a bike (I don’t know, I can’t understand her), but I guess it also means I won’t be sharing this faith promoting story next testimony meeting:Last Tuesday I went to pick up some food at this Thai place. When I pulled up, I turned off the car and tried to pull out the key. It wouldn’t come out. I tried brute force, I tried carefully turning it, but it wouldn’t budge. Next I decided to just go home and figure it out, but then it wouldn’t start either. I sat there for 10 minutes trying to turn the key both ways. I was thinking about how I will have to get a ride home and get it towed and I admit I shouted a lot of words that made the angels sad.But then after I ran out of swear words, I decided to calm down and say a little prayer to ask for help. Shortly after the prayer I realized that the car was still in drive and that is why it wouldn’t start or let go of the key.Which reinforced an important principal that I have learned over the years:God does answer prayers. Sometimes the answer is “yes,” sometimes the answer is “no,” and sometimes the answer is “you’re an idiot.” But He always answers prayers.
When I read this I was laughing so hard I was almost crying. Basically. Something like that has happened to me before. Can't say how long ago it was, but it was in the days of the Festiva. I had to stop by my mom's work to get something from her real quick. I just remember being in a huge hurry. I went back out to my car after having talked to my mom and it wouldnt start. I was for sure it was my moms fault! I don't know how she really couldve done anything wrong to it. I'm pretty sure I just wanted to blame someone else. Either way....I was freaking out and then called my dad. I'm like "DAD! WHY WONT MY CAR START!...yadda yadda yadda" going on with some sob story about how something my mom had done probably screwed it up. I should probably apologize to my mom now that i think about it. BUT...he was super calm...and then proceded to ask me what I was doing. I said I put the key in the freaking car and tried to start it and it wont start! why not?!?!?! Then he went back through what you need to make sure you do before you start a car. Back to basics friends....thats what it is all about. He told me to put the car in park. I'm sure I wouldve automatically assumed that the car was there, but then I got back to my car and sure enough. I just needed to do a simple change...put the car in park. DUH. so simple. So well my story isnt realllly the same because I didnt really swear up a storm, but I did get a big attitude. AND I don't really remember praying to figure out the answer...but I did go to my earthly father for some guidance. okay, sooo maybe these two stories dont have a ton in common but it did remind me of my story. I always love remembering funny stories. AND of course this is one of those stories you wouldnt hear me tell in a sacrament meeting.

Remember when...
This morning I woke up to my nephew Bryce tapping me on the head telling me "ITS MORNING! WAKE UP!... daddy said so, but don't tell him" haha RIIIGHT Bryce, your dad told you to wake me up at 7 am. I doubt it, but it was pretty funny that he wanted me to be awake. I had slept at their house cause I stopped by for a visit last night and just didn't feel like driving home. So I crashed on their couch. While we were watching American Idol Bryce had asked me to sleep in his bed with him but he fell asleep long before I really had to do that. Basically after I was finally up because of Bryce.... Jake came downstairs and pulled the phrase "remember when..." He went on to talk about the time I lived with them in 2001-ish in huber heights. Stacey was driving a 97 mustang and I had my lil red ford festiva. I loved that POC car. I never worried about anyone hitting it. It couldn't really look any worse than it already did...as long as it kept running I was ok. SOOO one morning Stacey was in a super rush to get to work and Jake had been telling her to slow down and chill out. He always makes a big deal about stuff though when no one else thinks they need to chill out. So I can see why his statement would go ignored. Stacey didn't slow down and just automatically backed out of her driveway like normal and smashed into my driver side door. I just laughed. No big deal. Jake took a hammer to my door and pounded it out that way I could open it all the way and no harm done, right? Stacey felt bad but I'm sure she got over it. So fast forward to this morning....the "remember when...Stacey hit your car... well she did it again" hahaha but i guess its funnier this time because she actually moved it first and was trying to be careful. Their van has a lil camera you can look at while you back up. Well she did see my car, but didn't see the driver side rear view mirror. haha. She clipped it and it fell or something. Jake temporarily put it back on. It seems to be on fine, but he still says there is something he needs to do to reinforce it. Stacey called me to apologize but really its not a big deal. AND I got a good laugh out of it. I'm glad that my things don't mean so much to me. Maybe I should care more, but I don't.

This is all about energy conservation. See this is how geoff and casey eat dinner. On paper plates with glass plates underneath. See then u can throw away the paperplate and not even have to wash the other plates. Apparently it was too much energy to have to boil the water on the stove to cook the noodles.... Wouldnt want to have to waste anymore energy on dinner.

VistaPrint
Today I decided it was time to buy/order some business cards. I went on vistaprint.com because I got an email saying I could get some free stuff. SOOOO I went online and found a lil logo I enjoyed...and then started adding things to my cart. I knew I would have to pay shipping, but I think it was worth it.
In the end (21 days to ship) I will have in my posession one key chain, one large car magnet, one hat, 500 business cards, 140 return address labels, 100 post cards that I will sell as gift certificates, 10 large magnets that have a 2009 calendar on them, one rubber stamp with my address, one note pad (from the desk of Elizabeth Benson L.M.T.) and one t-shirt.
WOW huh? I saved 85.92!
I am not going to say how much shipping cost, but I got a sweet deal.
:)
